The Berkshires Part II
August 2, 2006
Okay, so I think I am so far behind in this blog I should just gloss over stuff until I catch up. And post pictures. But then so much cool stuff has happened, I don't want to do that. I will just hope that we will be stuck somewhere frightfully boring but with high speed internet access for a while so I can catch up because there will be nothing else to do. I miss you books and computer games, so inaccessible though right in my sight.
Anyway, Zorah stepped up her swimming once again! She already swims underwater, which is amazing enough to me, but now she dives for rocks on the bottom, even without goggles. We actually have to find her some, because in these heavily chlorinated pools, she complains about her eyes being either itchy or "too wide open". I'm pretty sure that means the same thing. She and a little girl named Danielle took turns getting this black rock out of the pool, then dropping it back in.
During all this, we had time to visit the playground. Here are some photos. Ian and Brian tried to convince Z to go on the seesaw. They had fun. Z wasn't interested.

Our last night in Chester, MA, August 2, we went to dinner at a place called The Dreamaway Lodge in Becket, MA. It was recommended to us by Brian's parents. I am hoping they read this, or the Bergs do and inform them, because we had a great time. Wednesday night, which is when we were there, is definitely the night to go. Everyone had guitars! Perfect for our resident musician. It is open guitar night or mic night. Whatever. It was cool. Ian borrowed a guitar and jammed with some guy. I didn't get to listen, unfortunately, because I was watching Zorah play with some friends she had found there. She met a girl named Olivia who was just Z's age, and articulate and friendly, just Z's personality. Her dad was there to play in guitar night, and Olivia brought a little fiddle with her. Awwww. The food was pretty good, but the atmosphere was excellent, just like Joan had said. Thanks, Joan!
So the next day we packed up, and decided to see where the road would take us. Here is Zorah being silly on the road to our next destination.

Rule #1: Pay no attention to the meters in the trailer!
We spent an extra day at this campground because we had a plumbing issue. Did I mention some stripping came off the front of our trailer when we were driving? I put it back in by climbing onto the roof of the truck. Anyway, I was washing dishes our second day. When I was done, I noticed the water lurking in the sink. Checked to make sure the plugs weren't in. Checked the holding tank levels. They all seemed fine. Tried Drano. No result. The next day, we were informed that we had a swere hookup. So we connected, drained all the tanks and PRESTO!! Problem solved. Duh. Anyway, after the stress and mild humiliation, we decided to stay another night. It was a great idea too.During all this, we had time to visit the playground. Here are some photos. Ian and Brian tried to convince Z to go on the seesaw. They had fun. Z wasn't interested.
